Ok, today I am writing my first official blog. I have written quite a few blogs on my myspace page and I am going to transfer them over here soon. I have been writing mostly about my experiences working with the Obama campaign here in Charlottesville. I'm going to expand upon that just for the heck of it. Today Mariah Jane and I dropped off 3 folding chairs and a huge ream of colored paper for the new headquarters on the downtown mall. I have to laugh because she whined the whole way because the paper was heavy and I was carrying three chairs and walking like I just turned 100 years old. My fingers have been bothering me lately so this didn't help. :-) I am constantly amazed by the amount of excitement. Not to mention all of the people building offices inside the old A&N building. That is some hard work and just shows an amazing amount of dedication. I recognized a few people from the party Kristen and I attended after the primary back in February......two words.....Dwight Shrute (the Office)......Kristen, I know you will get that. Anyway, we are geared up to attend the grand opening on Saturday and i'm sure we will grab a glass of wine on the way out at Enoteca....a new restaurant that also has awesome panini's.
Well, summer is reaching the end for me. I am starting my summer classes at UVA and next week i'll be stuck inside from 8:30-5:30. I am excited and nervous about this class. It is a leadership technology class. I feel like I have a pretty good grip on technology but when I called the help desk to set up my laptop I felt like the guy was talking gibberish......I basicially answered "uh huh" and decided that I would find a written tutorial......i'm definitely not an auditory learner but a visual and kinesthetic learner.....so if you ever try to give me verbal directions on how to get to your house my response will most likely be..."uh huh" and then I will proceed to google your address. :-) Anyway, Mariah stayed home this summer for the first time. It flew by a lot faster than I expected and we didn't get to travel this summer due to the lovely prices of gas these days.
Happy Summer!
